University of South Carolina SLIS PhD students are pleased to welcome Janeen Bryant and Dr. Tom Hanchett of the Levine Museum of the New South to the SLIS PhD Fall Colloquia Series. Dr. Hanchett is staff historian at Levine Museum of the New South in Charlotte, NC. He led the curatorial team for the museums award winning exhibit Cotton Fields to Skyscrapers: Charlotte and the Carolina Piedmont in the New South. His writings range widely on urban history and Southern culture. Janeen Bryant is Vice President of Education at the museum. She manages outreach and public education programs, most recently creating facilitation modules for the lynching photo exhibit, Without Sanctuary. She authored Connecting Kids to History with Museum Exhibitions.
