seeks suitably qualified applicants for a tenure track position as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer commencing August 1, 2013

 

The Department of Library and Information Studies (DLIS) is committed to provide excellent teaching and research to develop information professionals who are equipped to function effectively in a variety of environments. The DLIS presently offers two undergraduate and two postgraduate degree programmes and faculty are required to teach at both levels, supervise student research, engage in research activities, and be actively involved in public service. The DLIS is also embarking on new undergraduate and graduate programmes which emphasize the synthesis of people, information and technology.

We seek applicants with research interests and the ability to teach in three or more of the following:  1) Information Technologies including areas of web design and management, database creation and management; 2) digital libraries; 3) Library systems and software applications;4) Multimedia applications in libraries; and 5) Information Management.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of the major issues facing Library and Information Science today while developing areas of specialization.
