Instruction Librarian

Institution: University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point

The University Library seeks an experienced and forward-looking librarian to provide instruction in the area of information literacy. The successful candidate will play a major role in conducting instruction sessions and orientation tours for library users in all academic disciplines. He/She will take the lead in meeting the campus’ new general education requirements for information literacy, and the assessment of library instruction. The Instruction Librarian will also coordinate the Library’s one-credit course, Library Resources 101 (LRES 101), and teach some of its sections. Duties will also include the development of instructional tools, such as library user guides and online tutorials. The Instruction Librarian takes an active role in reference services and collection development, participates fully in scholarship, and provides service to the university, the community, and the profession as a tenure-track library faculty member. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate closely with his/her colleagues to meet the mission and goals of the University Library.

 

This is a tenure-track position with faculty rank and status (rank and salary dependent on experience and qualifications); academic year (9 month) appointment.  Short term summer contracts are available subject to funding.
