Please share with any interested parties. The Mercer Medical Library and Learning Resources Center in Macon, GA seeks applications for the position of Assistant Director for Public Services. Responsibilities: The Assistant Director for Public Services is responsible for day-to-day operations of the public face of the Mercer Medical Library in Macon. The goal for the Public Services section is to utilize outstanding customer service skills in order to meet the informational, instructional, and educational support needs of the students, faculty and staff of the Mercer University School of Medicine. A secondary goal is to provide informational resource and support services to Middle Georgia health professionals and to health care providers in rural and medically underserved areas of Georgia. This is a supervisory position, reporting to the Library Director, and as such requires a great deal of independent planning and decision-making. Qualifications: American Library Association-accredited masters degree in library science, information science, or equivalent from an accredited university/college. A minimum of three years of health sciences library reference, ILL, and/or circulation experience is required. This must include at least two years of supervisory experience as a professional librarian and one year of academic library experience, along with a basic familiarity with medical terminology. The successful candidate will also have experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating library public services, including familiarity with integrated library systems (preferably Innovative Interfaces, Inc.); interlibrary loan systems and services including OCLC, DOCLINE, and ILLiad; and print, electronic, and mobile resources. Membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals desirable. This is a full-time, non-tenure track medical school faculty position. Salary commensurate with experience, minimum $55K.
