Fall day trip -- A beautiful time to travel to the Cumberland Plateau!

 

Event:  Big River on The Main Stage @ Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, TN
Based on one of the most popular books of all time... winner of seven Tony Awards and nine Drama Desk Awards, including Best Original Score by country music legend Roger Miller.  We will  journey down the Mississippi with Big River, Miller's musical adaptation of Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

"We're excited to feature our resident company in another musical adaptation of a literary classic," said Producing Director Jim Crabtree, "and we're especially gratified by the opportunity to introduce a new generation of young people to this classic musical."

Big River, one of the most successful—and often-requested—titles in Playhouse history, will run from September 27 through November 2. Britt Hancock and Leila Nelson will co-direct the production, with music direction by Ron Murphy.

Date:  Thursday, October 18, 2012 (Deadline for registering is October 8, 2012)

            Depart Knoxville – 10:00 a.m.

            Return Knoxville – 8:00 p.m.  (approx.)

              Park at the UT Visitors' Center (Kingston Pike & Neyland Drive) where bus will depart and return.

 

Cost:  $60 per person

            Includes:  Transportation, Lunch, Theatre ticket & Snack for ride home

12:30 p.m.              Visit Homestead Museum at Park (no admission fee)

 

2:00 p.m.                  Arrive at Cumberland County Playhouse

 

2:30 p.m.                  The River

 

5:00 p.m.                  Depart for Knoxville

8:00 p.m. EST          Arrive in Knoxville
