Archives New Zealand has a statutory responsibility for the long term storage, preservation and accessibility of digital records. The Government Digital Archive Programme will transform the way Archives conducts its business, allowing large-scale transfers of digital records and preserving them over the long-term.
You will be tasked with providing business-focused digital preservation strategies for material held within the digital archive and specialist advice in relation to formats and metadata. You will work with others to research and resolve complex technical issues related to the digital archive, such as format variations, validation and enrichment processes, and preservation risks. You'll also be involved in the development of Digital Preservation policy, both within Archives and with our collaborative partners, and can expect to be working on a variety of research projects related to the Digital Archive and preservation.
You will work closely with a team which includes analysts, archivists and ingest technicians, and with business staff managing transfers, restrictions and access.
This is a busy role in an active programme of work. You'll need excellent communication skills, be an adaptable team player, have previous experience in digital preservation, and a related degree.

Research Librarian for Western European Languages, Literatures and Cultures
In a widely collaborative, user-centered library environment, this position contributes to the development of new and ongoing library programs and services in support of research, teaching and learning in the College, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and the University. The position initiates and leads collaboration with library colleagues, academic administrators, teaching faculty, and teaching fellows in order to integrate into the curriculum opportunities for students to discover, critically evaluate, organize, synthesize, build upon, and ethically use information in diverse formats. Through these activities, it promotes the development of research fluency among Harvard’s undergraduate and graduate students and supports the creation, use, and dissemination of new knowledge by scholars and faculty.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Develops, participates in, and assesses teaching and outreach programs of the FAS libraries, emphasizing active learning and teaching from Harvard’s collections.
· Serves as Library Liaison to one or more academic departments/programs in the Humanities, such as Romance Languages and Literatures and Comparative Literature. Routinely develops and delivers course-integrated research support, instruction, and research consultation.
· As an embedded librarian, actively works to be part of the life of the department/s, including understanding and engaging with the curriculum, supporting scholarly communications needs in the department/program, and participating in their events and activities. May also serve as a secondary research contact in areas appropriate to background and expertise.

· Works comfortably in a large research library environment and in a variety of university locations (e.g., classrooms, student residential settings, department offices, etc
· Maintains current awareness of developing trends and investigates and adopts new findings and innovations in:
o teaching and learning program development, assessment, pedagogical methods, learning materials, technologies that support and advance teaching and learning in the academic environment.
o trends in publication and the dissemination of knowledge in the disciplines
· Collaborates closely with archivists, curators, bibliographers and other library and museum colleagues in delivering research support and in teaching programs
· Participates in developing library collections and collaborates with collection development colleagues in both identifying specific needs and, more generally, concerning programmatic developments and shifts
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May supervise support staff and/or student employees.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
· MLS from an ALA accredited graduate program, or equivalent
· Advanced academic degree preferred
· Fluency and/or reading and speaking knowledge of one or more Western European languages
· 3-5 years of reference or research services experience
· Experience working in a college/university library setting preferred
· Knowledge of trends in digital scholarship and pedagogy and scholarly communication
· Evidence of the effective application of technology in support of research and teaching
Knowledge of scholarly resources in the Humanities
· Knowledge of cultural studies, film studies, literary studies preferred

The Cincinnati State Archives has an opening for a part-time archives assistant.
Responsibilities:
● Arranging and describing collections, including the preparation and encoding of DACS-compliant finding aids and other descriptive access tools
● Contribution to digitization projects including scanning of various formats (negatives, prints, slides, newspaper, etc.)
● In consultation with the Archivist, conceptualize, research, and create exhibits (physical and digital) interpreting archival collections.

The Digital Scholarship Initiatives Coordinator will provide leadership in conceptualizing and implementing new digital scholarship and preservation initiatives with a focus on needs assessment, requirements analysis, and business planning. One of the key responsibilities will be facilitating the implementation of CUL's scholarly communication outreach program by partnering with subject liaisons to understand service needs, coordinate awareness sessions, and facilitate forming new partnerships with faculty in pursuing digital research and teaching initiatives.
The main responsibilities include:
--Lead a diverse range of DSPS initiatives including setting requirements, developing project plans and timelines, coordinating initiative implementation, conceptualizing innovative solutions, overseeing project staff, managing budgets, assessing project outcomes, and communicating with project team members and clients.
--Collaborate with subject liaison librarians to promote CUL's digital scholarship and scholarly communication services, increase awareness about current scholarly communication issues, assess faculty needs for services and adjust CUL services accordingly, create new workshops and forums for faculty and researchers in related topics (e.g., personal archiving, open access).
--Participate in initiatives addressing long-term stewardship and access to collections including sustainability programs.
--Manage the Cornell Copyright Information Center, including the delivery of the workshop series, development of the website, creation of new information materials, and provision of copyright clearance and intellectual property rights services and consultancies.
CUL's Digital Scholarship & Preservation Services program facilitates collaborations within the Cornell University community in the creation and management of digital scholarly content in support of learning, teaching, and research. The program also has a national and international presence and facilitates sharing and archiving of content through online repositories such as e-publishing systems or institutional and subject repositories (e.g., arXiv.org).
Qualifications:
--Bachelor's degree, preferably with background in information science, library science, or instructional design (advanced degree highly desirable)
