The Stax Museum of American Soul Music was established in 2003 with the
mission of presenting, preserving, promoting and interpreting the culture
and heritage of American Soul Music. Located in Memphis, Tennessee, the
museum serves as a tourist attraction as well as a repository for artifacts
and archives related to the Soul Music genre.

The Museum seeks a dedicated archivist to facilitate and oversee all facets
of archivally housing, cataloging, and digitizing the museum’s photograph
collection (over 350 photographs). Participate in provenance research and
work closely with the Museum Collections Staff to determine use and access
stipulations on the collection. Digitize the photograph collection using
Adobe Photoshop. Create finding aids for the photograph collection using
the museum’s collections management software (EmbARK and Archivists’
Toolkit) that adhere to recognized best practices for both museum
collections
and archives. Work closely with the Curator of Collections/Registrar on
secondary archival projects that will focus on processing the museum’s
paper and video archive collection.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assess the condition of, arrange, catalog and create digital copies of the
museum’s photograph collection.

Digitize the photograph collection using Adobe Photoshop.

Create finding aid for photograph collection including context and related
objects in the museum’s collections as well as descriptions of the
photographs.

Create records for each photograph in Archivists’ Toolkit and link them to
records in EmbARK.

Organize and oversee the permanent storage of the photograph collection.

Preserve, stabilize and rehouse photograph, paper and video archival
materials as necessary.

Participate in provenance research activities to analyze documents, such as
records, meetings, letters, etc. to ascertain date of photograph,
photographer, or original recipient of photograph, to trace the ownership
and movement of photographs over time.

Participate in secondary archival projects that will focus on processing
the museum’s paper and video archival collection.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in museum studies or related/applicable field and a
demonstrated understanding of principles of archival arrangement and
description; and in provenance research and copyright and licensing
policies is required.

Preferred:
Familiarity with Encoded Archival Description, DACS and Dublin Core,
experience working with Archivists’ Toolkit and/or EmbARK museum management
software or PastPerfect museum management software and Adobe Photoshop is
preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Requires excellent computer skills; experience with Windows, Word, and Excel

Aptitude and willingness to learn new software programs through hands-on
use and self study.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent writing and oral communication skills
Willingness to work in a team oriented environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical requirements include ability to sit for extended periods at a desk
and at
meetings, standing, climbing stairs, walking, mental pressure; lifting

The Director of Information Resources will provide both strategic and
administrative leadership to help meet the company’s regulatory and
pharmacovigilance obligations as well as its medical information and R&D
information needs and ensure the company remains compliant with all

*SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES*
Areas of responsibility will include managing the following:

· Postmarketing literature surveillance

The director will manage and continue to develop Jazz Pharmaceuticals’
Information Resources function, including print and e-content procurement,
literature searches, document delivery, end-user database licensing,
management and training, reference support, cataloging, and archiving.
The director will conduct long-term planning and budgeting to develop the
company’s information resources. This will include working with all company
departments at all sites to ensure that the company’s information resources
and services meet their various needs and working with individual
departments to develop appropriate policies for handling the company’s
various information resources.
The director will also ensure that postmarketing literature surveillance is
conducted to meet our surveillance and reporting requirements for all

The director will ensure that all company sites have appropriate access to
