The Fall Gardener’s Festival at Plateau Discovery Gardens located on the grounds of the University of Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center near Crossville will be held from 10am until 4pm on Tuesday, August 28. Arrive early to get a closeparking space, to register and to get a locator map of activity locations. Master Gardeners will conduct guided walking tours of 


Discovery Gardens for early-bird attendees (9am-10am). This tour starts at the melon tasting tentnear the main office building. Various melon varieties currently under study at the Center will be available for taste testing throughout the day. Those sampling melons vote for their favorite. Educational sessions will be offered at four locations within the Gardens and at the Tomato Research Greenhouse. 


Learn about Tomato Research at 11am, 1pm & 3pm. Those who have questions about lawns will want to gather at garden Area 1 (12noon & 3pm) to hear Dr. Tom Samples’ turf talk. Hear Dr. Mark Windham discuss hydrangeas (Area 1 at 11am & 2pm).
