Under the provisions of the agreement, HIMSS members and their families will be eligible for a 10 to 25 percent tuition reduction, payment deferral and additional benefits through the new educational endeavor with Drexel University Online. The online master’s degree in Health Informatics is offered through The iSchool at Drexel, College of Information Science and Technology.

The benefits begin immediately for HIMSS members and should further serve to promote the HIMSS mission of “transforming healthcare through the effective use of information technology and management systems.” Not only will the collaboration generate increased interest in Drexel’s programs within the health informatics community, it will also create additional incentives for current Drexel students to participate in HIMSS events, conferences, and beneficial networking and professional development programs.

“There are tremendous workforce needs, and Drexel’s program is addressing them,” said Dalrymple. “This alliance will certainly expand our influence within the field, and that’s something we’re very excited about.”

Drexel University Online offers tuition discounts to employees and members of more than 250 diverse partner organizations. Other benefits include special programming to help companies maintain employee retention and a highlyeducated workforce, while additionally helping individuals remain at the top of their professions.
