Ecole de bibliotheconomie et des sciences de l'information Universite de Montreal Montreal, August 7, 2012 - The Universite de Montreal's school of library and information studies (Ecole de bibliotheconomie et des sciences de l'information - EBSI) is pleased to welcome Dr. Nadine Desrochers. Dr. Desrochers holds a BA with a major in French literature and a minor in theatre (1993) as well as a PhD in French literature (2001) from the University of Ottawa. Her dissertation is entitled "Le recit dans le theatre contemporain" (Narration in Contemporary Theatre). Dr. Desrochers also obtained an MLIS from Western University in 2011. Dr. Desrochers has held positions as a literary advisor at the Centre des auteurs dramatiques (CEAD) and as an assistant community librarian (Okanagan Regional Library, Kelowna, CB). She is also a practising translator. She specializes in drama and her translations have been read or produced in Montreal, New York, and Barcelona. Prior to joining EBSI as a full-time faculty member, Dr. Desrochers designed and taught an online course on reading, the book, and the publishing industry (SCI6344 La lecture, le livre et l'edition) at the school; she was also an adjunct assistant professor at the Faculty of Information and Media Studies, Western University. Her current research interests include digital collections, collection development, readers' advisory, and information behaviours.
