A conference "Mirror symmetry in the Midwest II" will be held in University of Wisconsin-Madison on*November 8 -11, 2012*. This conference is the second in a series organized by University of Wisconsin-Madison and Kansas State University. One may find the web site of last year's conference, along with a list of participants, many of whom are expected to participate this year as well, at http://www.math.ksu.edu/~galston/conference/index.html The NSF has approved funding for the conference.*Kevin Costello* from Northwesern University will give a series of 3-4 lectures on his recent work on Quantum Field Theory. We intend to have a diversity of participants, including some physicists in addition to mathematicians. We are expecting to have another 12-15 lectures by invited guest speakers. Like last year, a significant part of the funding will go to recruiting graduate student participants, so relevant interested graduate students are encouraged to apply.*The deadline to apply for support is**October 7.* We have set up a preliminary web site with partial information at http://www.math.wisc.edu/~oh/uw-ksu-index.html Registration is possible in this website. In order to keep down the volume of e-mail, only TWO announcements per conference will be approved by the moderator. The "subject" of your message should include the name of the conference and the number (first or second) of the announcement, e.g. Gauss Memorial Lectures in Geometry: Second Announcement. Please check that your announcement (especially the website) is correct. Corrections will be approved only in the most critical situations, e.g. if corrected information is not available on the website. If you send a submission from an e-mail address that is not subscribed to the geometry list then you will be sent an e-mail asking for confirmation. This feature is designed to thwart the hundreds of machine-generated spam that are sent to the list and would otherwise have to be manually blocked by the moderator.
