Hi,
I wanted to share all of the UT Progressive Student Alliance's upcoming events dealing with race and privilege, leading up to a campus visit by Tim Wise. Please share this with your students and, if possible, offer attendance as extra credit opportunities.
Tim Wise will be coming to UT's campus on October 16th. He will conduct a workshop for faculty and administration that day from 1:30-5:30pm in the Crest Room. I encourage you all to attend. He will also give a public lecture that night at 7:30pm in the UC Auditorium. We also have a "Wise Up!" series of events planned leading up to Tim Wise's visit:

* Spoken Word Night on Race featuring Joe Tolbert, Courageous, and Jardana Peacock from the Highlander Center.
2. Thursday, September 13th, 6pm, Library Room 129
* Film Showing of Papers, a movie about the DREAM Act
* Facilitated Discussion will follow.
3. Thursday, September 27th, 6:30pm, UC Shiloh Room
* Panel on Institutional Racism in Our Communities featuring Miguel Carpizo-Ituarte, Chris Crass, and more
