Dr. Wooseob Jeong Appointed Interim Dean - UW-Milwaukee, School of Information Studies 

Professor Dietmar Wolfram, who has been serving as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) School of Information Studies (SOIS) interim Dean, recently announced that he is stepping down this summer. Dr. Wolfram, who is internationally recognized for his contributions to research in informetrics and information retrieval, will return to his faculty position to focus on teaching and research. About his service, Dr. Wolfram says, "It has been a privilege to lead SOIS for the past year and a half. A personal matter makes it necessary for me to return to my faculty position this summer. The leadership of the school will be in good hands under Professor Jeong and I look forward to working with Wooseob."

 

Professor Wooseob Jeong has been appointed to serve as SOIS interim Dean beginning July 1st.

Dr. Jeong has been a faculty member at SOIS since 2001. He is a noted researcher in the areas of human computer interaction, digital libraries, and multilingual information systems. Dr. Jeong had served previously as the Director of the SOIS BSIST program and most recently as Director of the SOIS MLIS program.
