Anecdotally, St Kate's has had success placing students in special
libraries (legal, corporate, etc. libraries) -- possibly more succes in
that category than in public or academic librarianship. (please correct me
if I just happen to know the wrong sample of alumni.)
If my anecdotal evidence is accurate, then in a certain way, this move
takes advantage of St. Kate's strengths in preparing information
specialists for the 21st century, professionals who need to build careers
outside public and academic systems.
