GREAT COMMUNITY NEEDS A GREAT LIBRARIAN….Jackson Co, WV is looking for a Library Director to replace the current director who is moving on to bigger and better things. See the job announcement below. It is a great community with some beautiful scenery, much of it within commuting distance to Charleston (the state’s largest city and state capital). I am hoping to move out there within the next year.

Jackson Co. passed its library support levy a few weeks back with a whopping 72% approval rate, so the community appreciates its public libraries. This is a great opportunity for a dynamic librarian to take a dynamic library to new heights. While the qualifications below are the “preferred” qualifications, I am assured that the Library Board will consider a person with an MLS and appropriate (not necessarily “professional”) experience. If you are interested, have or will soon have your MLS, and have previous management and/or library experience, I would encourage you to apply. Applications should be submitted ASAP.
