REFERENCE LIBRARIAN, INSTRUCTOR OR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Rowland Medical Library at the University of Mississippi Medical Center seeks an Instructor or Assistant Professor-rank librarian to serve as a member of the Reference and Instructional Services team. Responsible for providing point-of-use and formal classroom instruction, reference desk coverage, collection development and departmental liaison activities. Duties include helping develop and prepare classroom, web-based, and customized instruction incorporating evidence-based resources, user assistance with remote access issues, and webpage content assignments. Non-tenure track faculty appointment.

Required:
Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library school. Knowledge of emerging technologies, commitment to public service, ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple tasks, and ability to perform as a faculty member in areas of education, scholarship, and service.

Preferred:
Academic courses in the sciences desirable. Capable of integrating new and emerging technologies into library services. Experience in application of library automation and membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals.

The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson is the health sciences campus of the University of Mississippi. Rowland Medical Library serves the schools of medicine, dentistry, nursing, health related professions, graduate studies, and pharmacy. Jackson is centrally located in Mississippi, approximately three hours from Memphis and New Orleans.
