Call for Nominations: 2013 ALISE Award for Teaching Excellence in the Field of Library and Information Science Education

 

The committee to select the 2013 ALISE Award for Teaching Excellence in the Field of Library and Information Science Education honoree is accepting nominations for the 2013 competition.  The winner will receive complimentary registration to the ALISE Annual Conference, to be held from January 22 – 25, 2013, in Seattle, Washington.

 

Criteria for selection include:

 

* Evidence of regular and sustained excellence in teaching library and information science

* Contributions to curriculum design that demonstrate subject expertise and the ability to integrate new developments in library and information science

* Evidence of mentoring students, alumni, and/or practicing professionals outside the classroom

* Use of effective and innovative teaching methods

 

 

Nominations should include:

 

1. A nomination letter describing the ways in which the nominee fulfills the criteria above;

 

2. Appropriate supporting documentation, e.g., letters of support that address the criteria listed above; evidence that demonstrates how the nominee meets those criteria, such as a CV and/or a description of the nominee’s relevant activities and contributions.

 

The Committee may solicit more information if necessary.
