I've always had our public PCs in their own AD domain.  Found them easier to manage that way.  I also used DF and GPOs to lockdown.  Worked well.

For those of you that use Active Directory and Group Policies to manage your public and staff computers (regardless of whether or not you use Deep Freeze, Steady State, etc.):

Are your patron computers attached to the same domain as your staff computers, or do you maintain entirely separate domains?
