Chad,

We have separate domains for our staff and public computers. This is
partly driven by the fact that we have separate IP ranges for our staff
and public networks and separate them through our networking equipment
including our firewall. While it does lead to a bit of redundancy in
managing things like software updates through Group Policy, overall,
it's worked pretty well.

Subject: Patron/Staff computer management

I'm curious on a particular topic and I'd like to ping the list to see
what you do at your own libraries. I've done both ways and I'm curious
to see what other libraries are doing.

For those of you that use Active Directory and Group Policies to manage
your public and staff computers (regardless of whether or not you use
Deep Freeze, Steady State, etc.):

Are your patron computers attached to the same domain as your staff
computers, or do you maintain entirely separate domains?

Thanks!
