The School of Library, Archival and Information Studies, The iSchool at The University of British Columbia, is pleased to congratulate 69 graduates who are conferred their degrees today as part of the 2012 Spring Congregation Ceremonies.

Degrees are being conferred on 47 Master of Library and Information Studies graduates, 7 Master of Archival Studies graduates, 12 graduates of the Dual Master of Archival Studies / Master of Library and Information Studies program, two Master of Arts in Children’s Literature graduates, and one  graduate of the Doctor of Philosophy program.

The School also bid farewell to Jill Palzkill Woelfer, our visiting Fulbright Canada Scholar, who is returning to the University of Washington iSchool to complete her Ph.D. after spending the past nine months conducting research into the access and use of technology by homeless young people. The data she has collected in Vancouver will be used in conjunction with a study at the University of Southern California, examining factors ranging from technology use to music preferences. Jill’s work was recently recognized by UW when she was presented with the University’s 2012 Graduate School Medal, awarded annually to one Ph.D. student for exemplary work.
