New
Geographic Information Server
OIT now has an
ArcGIS server available. It gives users the ability to create, manage, and distribute GIS services over the Web to support desktop, mobile and Web mapping applications. This software
simplifies access to GIS services for GIS professionals and knowledgeable users without any GIS experience. ArcGIS Server allows users to stay in control of their content through a centralized management of spatial data that can be distributed across multiple
servers for supporting enterprise applications. If you would like to use this server contact the OIT HelpDesk at 974-9900.

CoP Brown Bag Wrap Up
The last IT Community of Practice Brown Bag luncheon for the academic year was held on April 25, 2012. The last stop on our Technology Tour about campus was a visit to the classroom
and meeting facilities in the Haslam Business Building. We were very impressed with the state-of-the art facilities for teaching, learning, and collaborating, and most importantly, the ease of use for faculty that are new to technology. For more information
on the facilities, contact Kerry Roehr at 974-2171 or via email,
[log in to unmask] . We'll begin again in the Fall with more discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences in trends and issues in IT.
For more information, or to be added to the IT CoP mailing list, contact Dr. Christina Goode at
