Engineering Reference Librarian and Assistant Professor
The University of Mississippi Libraries seeks a creative and dynamic Engineering Reference Librarian to join a Library delivering user-centered reference
and instruction services to the university community.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide liaison, library instruction and collection development for the School of Engineering and/or other departments as assigned
- Demonstrate knowledge of or experience with library resources in engineering and/or computer science
- Participate in a general library instruction program supporting composition and freshman seminar courses and in the assigned subject area
- Provide instruction support through web content and development of online tutorials
- Provide in-person and virtual reference services
Qualifications: ALA accredited master’s degree by date of employment; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; knowledge of or
course-work in reference methods and/or resources; strong knowledge of emerging technologies, and the ability to apply these technologies to a diverse range of library applications.
The position is a 12-month, tenure-track faculty appointment reporting to the Head of Information Services; position available May 31, 2012. Minimum annual
salary is $42,000.
