 Job Description

Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is a nonprofit international health
organization working from more than 30 country offices and our Arlington,
Virginia and Cambridge, Massachusetts home offices.  Our staff from 65

*Overview*

MSH seeks an undergraduate or graduate student to work as an intern in the
Knowledge Exchange & Innovation (KE&I) area of the Leadership, Management,
and Governance Project (LMG).  In conjunction with the Office of
Communications and Knowledge Exchange (CKE) at MSH, the position with LMG
provides interns with a unique opportunity to glimpse the inner workings of
the internal and external communications and collaboration of an
international health nongovernmental organization.  The KE&I Intern will:

   1. Gain an understanding of the information management challenges facing
   a global organization.
   2. Learn how different social, political, and geographic criteria impact
   knowledge management, communication, and community development.
   3. Acquire day-to-day experience in an international nongovernmental
   organization that works for international donors.

*Overall Responsibilities*

The KE&I Intern contributes to the development and implementation of LMG’s
knowledge exchange/knowledge management strategy by providing
administrative and project support to the Sr. Technical Advisor for KE&I
and helps coordinate activities with other members of the CKE Office.

   1. Provide content management support for LMG KE&I activities.
   2. Research eHealth-related technical areas (including mHealth and
   mEducation) for the KE&I Strategy.
   3. Collect data on performance of relevant knowledge exchange channels
   4. Research LMG partners’ KE&I-related tools and resources.
   5. Assist with administrative duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

   1. Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
   2. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience in
   knowledge exchange/management, library sciences, education, global health,
   anthropology.
   3. Interest in global health, development, and technology.
   4. Excellent research and writing skills.
   5. Commitment of 20 hours per week, minimum.
   6. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications
   including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
   7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
   8. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work proactively and
   independently.
