We are seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Information Studies to teach and conduct research of high quality, and to assist in programme development, particularly for the Master of Information Studies and the Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Information Studies programmes. While we welcome applications across the entire Library and Information Management spectrum, we are particularly interested in candidates able to teach and carry out research in the following areas:

A completed or nearly completed PhD in a relevant domain is required.

The role of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Information Studies is to undertake teaching and research of high quality, to assist in programme development where appropriate, and to contribute to the effective management of the School, including relationships with practitioner communities. For those not familiar with New Zealand academic ranks, a Lecturer is an entry level position, roughly equivalent to a North American Assistant Professor, while a Senior Lecturer is closer to an Associate Professor, requiring demonstrated excellence in research and teaching.
