John Wodarski Receives Outstanding Research and Creative Achievement Award

John Wodarski has received a university-wide award for Outstanding Research and Creative Achievement. The award was announced this week at the 2012 Chancellor's Honors banquet.

Wodarski joined the College of Social Work in 2000. His research has led to significant contributions in the fields of social work and behavioral medicine. He has been the recipient of 146 federal, state, and private foundation awards to further the understanding of child and adolescent health behavior, behavioral medicine, violence, substance abuse, depression, sexuality, and employment.

Karen Sowers, Dean of the College of Social Work, stated, “Dr. Wordarski has engaged in research that has had critically important implications for practice.  His work has been far-reaching and extensive.  I am pleased that the university has selected him to receive this award for which he is so deserving!”

Research and Creative Achievement honors are awarded to tenured faculty who have received national or international recognition in their field.
