Bethel University in McKenzie, TN is seeking a vibrant, team-oriented, future- thinking person to fill the role of Catalog and Systems Librarian. This person will be responsible for original, complex and copy cataloging of materials in all formats including electronic resources; reviewing and implementing new workflows as technologies change; and providing departmental supervision and training to staff and student assistants in cataloging and support tasks. In addition, the successful candidate will review cataloging policies and procedures and implement improvements. This person will serve as the database administrator for the library's integrated system; manage the information technology infrastructure for the library; update and maintain the library website; recommend new technologies; train staff on new technologies; and provide leadership in solving problems associated with delivery of electronic resources. An upcoming major responsibility will be the conversion from Dewey to LC classification. Additional responsibilities will include liaison work with specific departments, and working with other faculty and staff on the continuous improvement of the library and its services. New graduates from ALA-accredited schools are encouraged to apply if they have taken appropriate classes in cataloging and technology management.
