Her latest collection of short stories, "Tales of the World," reimagines moments in the lives of explorers from Australian Aborigines to Aztec kings. Murray currently directs and teaches in the Creative Writing Program at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Jones Student Leadership Conference will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the UC. This year students will be able to learn how to lead with integrity, authenticity, confidence, purpose, or any other particular skill, context or attribute for which you have a passion. This year's conference will feature keynote speaker Doc Hendley, founder of Wine to Water, 2009 CNN Hero, and author of Wine to Water: A Bartender's Quest to Bring Clean Water to the World. The conference is free and a t-shirt, lunch, and conference materials will be provided to all conference participants. Dress is business casual. The conference is limited to the first 400 students who register so be sure to sign up soon at http://sold.utk.edu/conference/. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Get Involved --- Come support Dance Marathon and help raise money for East Tennessee Children's Hospital by participating in the 5k Love Run, noon Saturday, Feb. 18 in Circle Park. At UT, we are partners with East Tennessee Children's Hospital. This year we will hold our annual event on Friday, March 2. We will stay up all night and dance the night away in honor of the children with cancer and other blood-related diseases.
