Dear Professionals
As you are already aware that Society for Library Professionals (SLP) and SLA Asian Chapter jointly organizing the Library and Information Professionals Summit (LIPS) 2012 on Leadership, Ethics, Accountability and Professionalism in Library Service, 16-17 March 2012, New Delhi, India.
This would be a unique platform for all of you to share your management thoughts and ideas, managerial skills and experiences with the august gathering of professionals. In this connection, you are requested to submit your papers on the following themes:
A list of thematic areas we have identified for you to articulate. The list stated below is just indicative and not exhaustive.
1. Strategizing leadership to bring about changes to work ethics
2. Building and leading teams to achieve goals (team building efforts)
3. Using appropriate technology for learning and professional development
4. Communication and outreach activity for awareness building
5. Innovation in products and services
6. Decision making and problem solving traits (managerial skills)
7. Digital information: Licensing and pricing issues
8. Leadership initiatives by the LIS professionals in successful implementation of digital library development and management
9. Core competency development and capacity building programmes for the LIS professionals
10. Revising the course structure of the LIS profession as per the current demanding trends.

Paper Submission Guidelines
Participants are invited to contribute papers for presentation on the above themes and related aspects. The papers should be based on research surveys; case studies or action plans rather than theoretical explanations. Papers may submit through https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=lips2012

Submission of full papers (not more than 5 pages) with an abstract in approximately 200 words, keywords and references on A4 size paper with margin 1.5 cm on all sides in MS Word format in 10 points New Times Roman type single line spacing. Length of the paper should not exceed 4000 words. Details such as name of the author, designation, title of the article, abstract, name of the affiliating institution, mailing address, telephone number, fax number and E-mail address are to be included. Authors of accepted papers will be advised by The Program Committee by 31 January 2012. The paper submitted must not have been previously published or presented elsewhere. The Programme Committee will have the right to edit the papers. Selected papers will be published in the proceedings.
