Friends,

As you can see below, it is the Southern region's turn to host the
National Extension and Research Administrative Officers' Conference
(NERAOC), and we need an institution willing to serve as state host for
this national event in 2013, probably in April or May.

I know we are all experiencing precarious times and the idea of hosting
such an affair is daunting. However, the West Virginia folks are doing a
great job this year and they've created a handbook for future hosting
institutions that will be a tremendous administrative help. Also, it is
NERAOC tradition that the current year host forwards seed money to the
next hosting institution (typically a minimum of $30,000) to offset
initial expenses until registrations come in. Apparently, only one
institution has ever lost money on the event and that was because they
were not conservative booking their block of hotel rooms.

Please let me know if you are interested in being the host institution in
2013, and if you need additional information for a proposal to your
decision-makers, I'll respond ASAP.

Hosting NERAOC would provide an excellent opportunity to introduce your
state's scenic beauty and vacation attractions to a national audience.
Please give your serious consideration to serving as host for this
wonderful event.

Thank you!

Donna
