Please inform your students that we have about a dozen seats available in our asynchronous/ online Spring 2102 course LIS 660: Information Sources & Systems in Science


Explore Science Librarianship!

Understand the significant role scientific research and education plays in today’s world. /Learn about scholarly resources in astronomy, biology, chemistry, the earth sciences, and engineering / Learn about e-Science, data-intensive science, and data curation in the sciences.

Information:

This is a 3-credit asynchronous  online  graduate course offered by the ALA-accredited University of Hawaii at Manoa Library & Information Science Program.
Students should have completed an Introduction to Reference course at their school or have a strong science background.
Resident / Non-Resident (online rate) Tuition:   $1,374 + $15 Fees.
Non University of Hawaii students will need to: 1) Contact LIS Program Chair Dr. Wertheimer to save a seat [[log in to unmask]],  2) You must be admitted to Outreach College. Information on Applications and fees are available at  http://www.outreach.hawaii.edu/credit/.  Outreach College takes only 5 days for unclassified admissions. 3) Once admitted e-mail your UH user name and UH ID # to Dr. Wertheimer.  4) After receiving confirmation, you can register and pay online at myuh.hawaii.edu.  Seats are limited. Be sure to get your class OK’d by your home school.  
Note:
Admission to an LIS course via Outreach College does not equate to admission in the LIS Program.
