The next offering of the online course "Introduction to Spatial Literacy
and Online Mapping" will be Nov. 28-Dec. 18.

We're currently locked out of our website while we migrate to a new
content management system, so we aren't able to update the dates on the
course page until next week...there will be an offering in January as
the site says, but why wait that long to learn about all of the awesome
things you can do with this technology?

Register now for this course using our online registration form.

renceList.cfm&ConferenceTypeCode=L> Registration closes on Wednesday,
Nov. 23.

Speaking of awesome things, here are some examples of this technology at
work:

*	On library websites to showcase library locations-see what UNC
University Libraries <http://www.lib.unc.edu/libraries_collections.html>
, Saint Paul Public Library
<http://www.sppl.org/about/library-locations/map-bookmobile-stops> and
Brock University
<http://www.brocku.ca/maplibrary/general/where-is-the-ML.php> have
done.
*	On library websites as indexes and pathfinders, leading users to
the library's collection, as demonstrated by the University of Waterloo
<http://www.lib.uwaterloo.ca/locations/umd/photos/airphoto_index.html> ,
Cleveland State University
<http://www.clevelandmemory.org/hlneo/hospitals.html> and McMorial
Public Library <http://www.mcmillanlibrary.org/taylor/map.html> .
*	In library digitization projects such as those at the University
of Waterloo
<http://www.lib.uwaterloo.ca/locations/umd/project/index.html> and the
University of North Carolina
<http://www.lib.unc.edu/reference/gis/USDA/wake_1938/index.html> .
