Clinical Faculty in School Library Media - Fall 2012

University at Buffalo Graduate School of Education - Library and Information
Studies

The Library and Information Studies department at the University at Buffalo
invites applicants for a one year clinical faculty position.  This is a ten
month term appointment with eligibility for renewal. The successful
candidate will teach three courses a semester in the area of school library
media and information services for youth and support the graduate practicum
experience. 

 Responsibilities:

*	Teach 3 courses a semester, primarily online courses
*	Supervise graduate practicum experiences in PK-12 placements

Qualifications:

*	Earned doctorate in the areas of Library and Information Studies or
Education, completed or near completion. Completed doctorate preferred.
*	Experience teaching online courses or extensive experience with
online and Web 2.0 technologies;
*	Experience as a school librarian in a K-12 environment and
demonstrated understanding of inquiry-based learning and 21st century
skills;
*	Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, instructional
technology and its integration into the K-12 curriculum;
*	Knowledge of the requirements for library media specialist
certification in New York State (or needs to quickly acquire this
knowledge).
