As an annual tradition, the Medical Library Education Section of the Medical Library Association sponsors a contributed paper session during the Medical Library Association Annual Meeting to showcase the work of current students and recent graduates.

The theme of this year’s session is “New Voices: Let’s Hear it from the Rookie Lineup!,” which matches the MLA 2012 annual meeting theme of “Growing Opportunities: Changing Our Game.”   The Medical Library Education Section sponsors this session because of our commitment to our new members and because we want to celebrate the accomplishments of LIS students and graduates.  In fact, LIS students and graduates are our future leaders, so you should start your career now by contributing a paper! Many library managers attend this session to see who is new and upcoming in our field, and this is your opportunity to shine!

Any topic is fair game as long as it has not been previously published. If you are a current student, or if you graduated after November 2010, you are eligible for this session. When you submit your abstract, be sure to submit it as a “Student Paper Abstract”.   For more details about the submission process, visit: http://mlanet.org/am/am2012/sect_prog/call.html.  The deadline for submission is Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at midnight CST.
