No waiver.  Either you have the undergraduate cumulative GPA or 3.0 on last 60.  If you have an MS we don’t care about your undergraduate GPA.

Reason for minimum bachelor’s GPA – we encourage educators hired with a bachelor’s degree to work toward an MS.  We want them to have unconditional admission to the OSU graduate college.

We have had potential applicants (with a low cumulative undergraduate GPA) take a few hours as a special student (9 hours) in the grad college and then based upon their grades, if the graduate college will provide written documentation that they are accepted unconditionally into a graduate program, we’ll go ahead and let them apply for an educator position.

Thanks Sue.  Do you ever make a waiver for that, or is it set in stone?

Yes, except we have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA instead of 2.7.

Subject: Agent GPA requirements

Hi Group – Taking a quick poll on your County Agent minimum requirements.  We currently have a Bachelors GPA requirement of 2.7 cumulative (or 3.0 in the last 60 hours) for all Agent positions.  In the past, waivers have been made with the approval from our Associate Vice President for applicants who obtained their degree over 5 years ago.

Do any of you have similar requirements in place?  We’re looking at revamping our policy to either eliminate the waiver or become more inclusive, and I was curious what others were doing in our region.

Thanks,
