SPECIAL WORKSHOP: APPLYING FOR THE NSF GRADUATE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
The prestigious Graduate Research Fellowship Program provides substantial financial support for graduate students in all disciplines supported by the National Science Foundation, including Education and the Social Sciences. Because the
current deadline is mid-November, the Office of Research is offering this special workshop for interested UT students.
The workshop will focus on the purpose, scope, and application requirements for GRFP, together with tips for developing a strong proposal. Samples of successful applications will be examined as models of effective writing. The session has
been scheduled for Monday, September 26, from 10 – 12 noon in University Center 221.
Current seniors and graduate students who have not yet earned a graduate degree are eligible to apply. Applicants must be US citizens, nationals, or permanent residents. For additional information, see the program announcement, NSF 11-582,
at www.nsf.gov/pubs/2011/nsf11582/nsf11582.htm
