Lawrence Golan Discusses Intellectual Property Supreme Court Case - 9/30/11

Professor Lawrence Golan, plaintiff in the Golan v. Holder case scheduled for the U. S. Supreme Court in October 2011, will speak on his experiences and perspectives on the restoration of copyright of foreign works previously in the U. S. public domain. In recent years, thousands of works that were previously in the public domain have been pulled back into copyright protection, limiting the use of materials for academic work and performance.

 

Dr. Golan is the award winning Music Director and Conductor, University of Denver Lamont Symphony Orchestra and Opera Theatre and

Music Director and Conductor, Portland Ballet Company. He has been a resident conductor of The Phoenix Symphony and guest conductor for the London Symphony Chorus, Orchestra Citta ‘ di Grosseto, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, and Colorado Music Festival.
