I am looking for information from any of you that have a position that is a Farm Operations Manager type position. This position will manage personnel, facilities, and budget of several animals unit ofour teaching, research and extension functions within an academic department – in this case, Animal Sciences.

 

Here is a brief statement of the purpose:

 

The position will provide oversight, technical consultation, administrative and facilities coordination for live animal units within an academic department.  The position will develop and manage specifications and plans in specific areas of teaching animal related laboratories, live animal research and extension programming at specified live animal units.  The position will manage, supervise and coordinate all personnel needs within the units; develop and maintain budget; and develop and maintain standard operating procedures and institutional animal care and use committee maintenance, protocols and performance.  Reports directly to Department Head.

 

Minimum education -Bachelor’s degree in an Agricultural related field.
