Family Weekend Updates

Family Weekend Online Registration Ends Sunday!

Sunday, August 21 is the last day to register online for Family Weekend. While registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis, there are still plenty of Family Weekend packages available, so log on to ensure that you and your family are able to take advantage of this great opportunity to spend some time on campus with your student. Festivities will include the Big Orange Tailgate in Circle Park prior to the football game between our beloved Vols and Cincinnati, and so much more! For a complete schedule of events and for more information and to register, click here.

Immediately following Family Weekend registration, you will receive a receipt in your email account from the Parents Association. Then, you will have the option to purchase football tickets through UT Athletics. After purchasing football tickets, you will receive a second receipt sent from UT Athletics ([log in to unmask]) to the address provided in your UT Athletics profile. If you didn't receive a receipt from Athletics, you do not have football tickets!

Nametags for Family Weekend

The Office of the Parents Association will print name tags for all Family Weekend participants. If the name displayed in the event registration system is not what you want on your name tag, please edit your name in the Family Weekend Event system by clicking here.

US Mail and Package Delivery in Campus Residence Halls

Each campus residence has its own post office facility, which allows residents to have their mail delivered directly to their building. For your convenience, the Parents Association has included information on page 43 of the Parent Association Handbook and Calendar (distributed to all members at either Orientation or via US mail in June and July) regarding mail and package delivery in residence halls. Please consult your Parents Association Handbook and Calendar.

Meal Plan & Dining Dollars Versus the VolCard Account

We have been receiving a number of questions lately regarding meal plans and the difference between Dining Dollars and the VolCard Account. First, both accounts are housed on the VolCard, your student's ID card. Your student's VolCard does it all!

Dining Dollars are associated with meal plan, while the VolCard Account is not. Dining Dollars can be used in addition to meals at all Campus Dining locations. Purchases made with Dining Dollars are tax free. The VolCard Account acts as a debit account for students at Campus Dining locations and can be used for things like laundry in residence halls, printing on University printers, as well as purchases at campus vending machines and in the UT Bookstore. Deposits can be made to your student's VolCard Account anytime by clicking the Student Accounts link on the VolCard webpage. For more information, on the VolCard Account, click here.
