Aleksandra Sarcevic Joins Faculty at The iSchool at Drexel


The iSchool at Drexel, College of Information Science and Technology welcomes its newest faculty member Aleksandra Sarcevic, Ph.D. to its faculty.

Dr. Sarcevic joins the College as an Assistant Professor. She is a graduate of Rutgers' doctoral program in Communication, Information and Library Studies, and most recently spent time
as a visiting assistant professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Dr. Sarcevic's research areas include computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), human computer interaction, and healthcare informatics. She has particular interest in understanding how individuals
within large collocated teams in high-risk environments interact and communicate while solving problems. Thus far, her work has focused on understanding collaboration, teamwork errors, and information
behavior of trauma teams while treating severely injured patients immediately after injury.  Dr. Sarcevic is also interested in extending her research to online environments, studying the role of computer-mediated
communication in time-critical work of collocated and distributed teams.  Beyond her work in academia, Dr. Sarcevic spent time working in user experience research at Google, Inc., and at the Interface
Design Center at SIEMENS Corporate Research, Inc. She holds a BA in Arts, Film and TV Production from University of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia, and an MLIS from Rutgers University.
