Full-time Tenure-Track Faculty Positions

The iSchool at Drexel University invites applications for several tenure-track positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor level. We welcome applications with a wide variety of teaching and research
interests.   We are particularly interested in applicants in the following areas:

Information Security/Cyber Security/Forensics
Archival Studies
Digital preservation & Curation

The successful candidate will have:

A completed doctorate in a related field
Evidence of excellence in teaching and research
Interest in working with a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary faculty


Applications from senior personnel with a track record of conducting funded research are encouraged.   Joint appointments with other Drexel academic units are highly possible for senior level candidates.

The iSchool's view of information is broad, multidisciplinary, and practical. The College continues to evolve as an innovative leader in educating information professionals in the twenty-first century,
combining high quality teaching and research in a broad, multidisciplinary, and collaborative environment. We offer three BS degrees, four Masters degrees, and the PhD. Full-time PhD students are
supported either through faculty research grants from the National Science Foundation, the Institute for Library and Museum Services, and other funding agencies (including contract research through its
Applied Informatics group), or while performing other research or teaching related activities in the College. The ALA Accredited MS(LIS) degree is highly ranked, both overall and for specializations in
information systems and digital librarianship. Faculty and student interests span a broad spectrum of library and information science areas. All academic programs emphasize applied research, with a
tradition of both quantitative and qualitative research that encourages interdisciplinary activity. We consider experience in industry a plus.

Drexel is a privately endowed technology university founded in 1891. With over 20,000 students, it has one of the largest undergraduate cooperative education programs in the nation, with formal relationships
in place with over 1500 local, national, and multi-national companies. Drexel is located on Philadelphia's Avenue of Technology in University City and at the hub of the academic, cultural, and historical
resources of the nation's fifth largest metropolitan region. Philadelphia is also the midpoint of a mid Atlantic technology corridor that stretches from New York City (100 miles north) to Washington, DC
(135 miles south).
