Topic: Urban Goods Movement - Techniques to Improve Decision-making and Freight Operations

Description: Efficient goods movement is essential for the functioning of all urban areas. As demand for freight transportation continues to rise, shippers and carriers must find new ways to navigate through urban areas and deliver goods on time and at low cost. However, local land use and zoning requirements, as well as restrictions on delivery time and routes are often impediments to the efficiency of urban goods movement. Hear about recent research to help improve public decisions affecting urban goods delivery, techniques to develop, preserve, and protect freight transportation infrastructure and routes, and the implementation of an off hours delivery program to improve goods movement in New York City.
