Due to sudden resignation, we now have an opening for a certified school librarian, to begin next week (August 2)!
This job would involve serving as librarian at a pre-K-2 school (Ingleside) for 3 days a week and at a 3-5th grade school (North City) the other 2 days. I have been in the Athens City School since 1980, and it is a wonderful system in which to work! The schools are very small (about 250), and although money has been a little tighter than usual the last few years, we have always been blessed with great financial support for the library. The librarians in our schools are very active, and we try to be important in both the learning taking place and in building excitement and love for reading.
