Dear Tennessee OMK Families,

Do you know a military parent and teenage child who would like to have lots of fun at a free camp this summer while reconnecting after being away from each other during a military deployment? The University of Kentucky Family and Consumer Sciences Extension is offering free camps for military parents and their teenage children ages 14-18 to attend together! Kentucky has SEVEN different camps to choose from! In addition, there are many other adventure camps being offered in other states and even in Germany. Information about all the adventure camps being offered can be found at https://www.extension.purdue.edu/Adventure_camps/campshome.html.

Kentucky’s camps are open to military parents and their teenage children ages 14-18 only from ANY state and from ANY branch of the military. It is the intent of the Department of Defense sponsored High Adventure Camps to provide quality outdoor experiences for teens of Service Members in the Active, Reserve and Guard components. Specific questions regarding eligibility should be made to the appropriate Adventure Camp point of contact. For Kentucky’s camps, first priority will go to military parents/children who have experienced at least one deployment and who are geographically dispersed. The application packet is now available – 2011 Military-Extension Adventure Camp Application. Applications will only be accepted by mail at address below. These FREE camps will be held:
