The National Center for Freight and Infrastructure Research and Education (CFIRE) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is currently hiring a Program Director for the Mid-America Freight Coalition (MAFC), the ten-state collaborative organization that assists in the planning, operation, preservation, and improvement of transportation infrastructure in the Midwest. The ten states of the AASHTO Mid-America Association of State Transportation Officials (MAASTO) share key interstate corridors, inland waterways, and the Great Lakes and form the membership of the Coalition.

The Program Director facilitates and manages the MAFC research and outreach programs, provides member services to coalition members, and represents the MAFC and CFIRE with a wide array of stakeholders.  The position also could conduct independent freight research.  The position is a 50-100% appointment depending on candidate preferences and availability.
