Just a thought:  You may have checked this already, but the problem could possibility be driver related. You might verify that you have current/latest bluetooth drivers for your laptop.

Sorry, no particular recommendation on BT scanners, though. Never had a need to research/sell one. FWIW, though, I like Wasp barcode scanners in general. I've had good luck with them at my library clients. A quick check on their website tells me they do make a BT version for about $350 retail:   http://www.waspbarcode.com/scanners/wws500_barcode_scanner.asp   I've never used one, however.

Good luck!

We are using Dell Latitude E6410 ATG laptops with built-in bluetooth capability. I purchased what had been a proven product to us, a Honeywell Metrologic BT9535 barcode scanner, for use in Outreach Services Offline Circulation in the field. We are a Polaris library.

I have worked numerous hours to try to keep this thing connected to the laptop, and it keeps losing BT connectivity, whether in the office or in the field. I sent it back to Honeywell for ‘repair’ and I think they just reprogrammed it. No matter, it still doesn’t stay connected so I am trying to get a refund.

Anyway, do any of you have a super-recommendation for a bluetooth barcode scanner? Needs to be impact-resistant of course, and preferably less than $400.
