The University of Oklahoma’s School of Library and Information Studies is pleased to announce the appointment of Ellen Rubenstein as Assistant Professor effective August 15th, 2011. Dr. Rubenstein holds a PhD from the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Rubenstein has presented her research about information and communication within an online breast cancer support group during the annual meetings of the American Society for Information Science & Technology and the Association for Library and Information Science Education and the 2010 iConference. She is the recipient of the Eugene Garfield Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship (2010) and the Certificate of Merit, ASIS&T SIG-USE Poster Competition (2009). The faculty and students of OU SLIS are looking forward to welcoming Dr. Rubenstein this Fall, where she will be teaching in the Information Users content area, pursuing her research concerning online health information behavior, and joining in our quest to connect people to information!
