Dr. Pantelidis appointed Emerita status

 

Dr. Veronica Pantelidis, Distinguished Professor in the College of Education, Department of Library Science, at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina is retiring effective July 1, 2011 after 35 years of service to East Carolina University and the Department of Library Science. She has served as the co-director of the Virtual Reality and Education Laboratory, was co-editor of the refereed journal VR in the Schools, and was the Program Coordinator for the graduate Certificate in Virtual Reality in Education and Training program. Dr. Pantelidis received East Carolina University's 1999 Max Ray Joyner Award for Faculty Service Through Continuing Education, and the 2000-2001 East Carolina University, College of Education, Distinguished Professor award. Dr. Pantelidis' publications include numerous journal articles and several books, the latest book as a co-author of Virtual Reality in Education, a double issue of Themes in Science and Technology Education (2010). A number of Dr. Pantelidis' publications on the use of virtual reality in education can be found at the Virtual Reality and Education Laboratory website at http://vr.coe.ecu.edu/vrel.htm. Given the depth and scope of the contributions of Dr. Pantelidis to the Department of Library Science, it is with great pleasure we announce that the Department of Library Science Personnel committee has appointed Dr. Veronica Pantelidis as Professor Emerita effective with her retirement on July 1, 2011.
