Aslib Proceedings was founded in 1949 as the conference
proceedings publication of ASLIB (Association for Information Management).
Emerald acquired the journal in 2001 and in March 2010 went on to acquire the
ASLIB Membership Association itself. The appointment of Professor Spink marks a
move to re-establish the journal as the flagship academic publication of the
ASLIB Association. The journal will focus on academic research but will also
demonstrate how practitioners can translate the latest theory into everyday practice.
Professor David Nicholas of University College London edited
the journal for over a decade and was responsible for several innovations
including widening the focus of the journal to include emphasis on journalism
and new media areas.
The change of Editorship will be effective from the 2012
volume onwards. Prospective authors should visit the journal information page
at: http://www.emeraldinsight.com/ap.htm.
Aslib Proceedings is
available as part of either an online subscription to Emerald Management
eJournals or as a part of ASLIB Association Membership. For more information
