The Biodynamics Data Resource (BDR), which houses a unique collection of
human impact exposure data collected between 1971 and 1996 at the U.S. Naval
Biodynamics Laboratory (NBDL), is seeking a librarian with an MLS degree to
help organize and digitize the collection. Much of the groundwork has been
done to complete a metadata schema for collecting and storing data from the
documents being digitized. The person in this position would work closely
with the database developer to refine and expand the metadata schema into a
robust research repository system for further research of the data to be
conducted. Medical knowledge is a plus. This collection remains significant
to this day because it forms the basis for all research being done with
crash test dummies, the research done at NBDL cannot be reproduced due to
modern research standards and the biodynamics community is eager to be able
to access the data for current and future research.
