Annual Members: This Could Be Your LAST Email!Attention Annual Members: If you joined the Parents Association or renewed your membership in 2010 as an Annual Member, the Parents Association membership renewal deadline is May 31! Click here and click on Join, Renew, or Update Information to renew ($40, $3.33 per month) or convert ($100, valid until your student graduates) your membership. You will need your Member ID number, which you received via email on Monday, May 16. If you have any questions, or would like to renew over the phone please, contact our office at (865) 974-4546. Career Member Benefits PackageCareer Members (and converted Career Members), thank you for your membership and commitment to UT and the Parents Association. In addition to all the normal benefits and services associated with membership in the Parents Association, Career Members are eligible for additional benefits due to their long-term commitment to the UTK. Memorial Day HolidayOn Monday, May 30 there are no classes and most university offices will be closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Important Summer School DatesFull & first session summer classes will begin on June 2. First session classes end on July 6 and second session classes will begin on July 7. Full and second session summer classes end on August 9. Free Summer School TutoringThe Office of Minority Student Affairs has extended their free tutoring program for all students to include the summer semester. Free tutoring is available for Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Spanish, and more. Click here for more information. TRECS Summer MembershipsThe Tennessee Recreational Center for Students (TRECS) is open and available to all students during the summer months. Students enrolled in summer classes at UT can take advantage of the TRECS facility and Student Aquatic Center at no additional charge. Students on and around campus not enrolled in summer classes at UT can purchase a TRECS summer membership for $50. A summer RecSports membership is valid May 11-August 14, 2011. Pat Summitt Induction into the Tennessee Women's Hall of FameCoach Pat Summitt will be inducted into the Tennessee Women's Hall of Fame in Nashville on June 17, 2011. This award recognizes her contributions to the status of women not only in the state of Tennessee, but throughout the world. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here. UT Farmers MarketCheck out the UT Farmers Market in the UT Gardens on Neyland Drive from 4:00-7:00 PM each Wednesday from now until October. This is the second year for the Farmers Market, which is managed by student interns who are interested in farming and farmland preservation. Each week the Farmers Market will include fresh produce, local food, cooking demonstrations, creations from the UT Culinary Institute, entertainment, children's events, educational information, and more.
